Savannah Children’s Choir Winter Concert Performance

It is such a pleasure playing for the Savannah Children’s Choir. I’ve been running extra practice sessions, getting to be a music teacher again, besides playing all manner of repertoire on the piano, and frequently practicing my sight reading and arranging skills!

The Preparatory Choir, the Consort, and the Senior Choir kicked off the holiday season, singing music from many periods in many styles and in multiple languages, including Hebrew and German.

Milano Classica Performances

My German double manual harpsichord performed beautifully in two nights of performances by Milano Classica as they stopped in Savannah during an American tour, November 1st and 2nd.

The performances were outstanding, proving yet again that a truly great ensemble does not need a conductor.

The recording engineer told me recently that the harpsichord sounded fantastic on the recordings. I hope the recordings will be made available!

Oct. 4th, Blessing of the Animals, Savannah Children’s Choir

One of my favorite events:  the Preparatory Choir singing for the outdoor service of the Blessing of the Animals at All Saints Episcopal Church on Tybee Island.  This year there were horses joining the usual dogs, cats, and birds.

Savannah Children’s Choir Performances in England

We had a wonderful whirlwind trip to England, staying in one of the dorms at the historic Sherborne School.

I had the pleasure of accompanying the choir for their beautiful performance at the Sherborne Abbey. We had the youngest choir both in ages of the children and years of existence of the choir. They performed so beautifully, the other conductors were moved to tears.

The joint concert of all the visiting choirs at Wells Cathedral the next night was beyond spectacular!

Boston Early Music Festival: The Paris Workshop

The Paris Workshop comes to Boston, bringing kits you can see and touch. I’ll be helping Carey Beebe run the booth Friday and Saturday, June 11 and 12. Come visit!

Our new Italian Virginal kit is a delight both as a kit and an instrument. I’ll be bringing one home for some lucky new owner.

Concert at Lucas Theatre with Baritone Keith Miller and the SCC

We very much enjoyed our week with Visiting Artist in Residence Keith Miller from the Metropolitan Opera. Keith used to be a professional football player who took up singing at the ripe old age of 28. His rapid rise to the top levels of the opera world (while staying a wonderful human being) proves once again that you can’t dream too big as long as you work hard to achieve them.

We culminated the week with a concert at the Lucas Theatre. The SCC and I joined Keith to perform two numbers at the end of his solo concert. His inspiration was clear. They were the best we’ve ever heard them. The crowd was overwhelmed and on their feet applauding wildly.
